Traditional Tiaras Tiaras should be seated towards the front of the hair at approximately 45 degrees. The ends should finish just behind the ears and be pinned in so that it will stay in place all day. They can be worn with or without a veil but if you are having a veil, this can be pinned in, on the top of your head just behind the tiara. If you have longer hair and are planning to wear it up, your tiara should be placed well back into the hair so that the hair provides a back drop for the design of the tiara. Some styles of tiaras, such as medieval styles can be worn low on the forehead. Whatever your choice of design make sure that the tiara band is nestled into your hair so that the band sides don’t show. Bun Wrap These designs are usually wrapped around the hairdo so that it encircles the hair. Hair can be worn high or low depending on your choice. Alice Band These are placed on top of the head with the ends placed just behind the ears. Alice bands are usually designed to be no more than just over an inch in height. They are great for younger bridesmaids especially if they have very fine hair and will stay in place easier than a traditional tiara. Crowns Depending on the size of the crown, the smaller styles sit on top of your head and you can experiment with the angle that it will sit. Larger crowns again can be seated at different angles and can have the hair pulled through the centre. If you are wearing your hair up, your hair must be higher than the crown. Smaller crowns can be worn if you have longer hair and are planning to wear it down.
